Agile

An umbrella term for a collection of frameworks and techniques that together enable teams and individuals to work in a way that is typified by collaboration, prioritization, iterative and incremental delivery, and timeboxing. There are several specific methods (or frameworks) that are classed as Agile, such as Scrum, Lean, and Kanban.

Impact

The adoption of Agile methodology fundamentally changes how value is delivered, moving from large-batch 'waterfall' releases to frequent, smaller deliveries. This reduces the risk of project failure by ensuring continuous feedback loops, but requires a significant cultural shift in organizations accustomed to rigid planning.

Weinto take

At Weinto, we see Agile not as a process to be installed, but as a discipline of engineering. Post-it notes don't make you agile; Continuous Integration, automated testing, and the ability to deploy to production on demand do. "Agile" without engineering excellence is just chaos with stand-up meetings.
