Capability
The ability of an organization, person, process, application, configuration item, or IT service to carry out an activity. Capabilities are distinct from resources (which are consumable assets).
Impact
Organizations often mistake resources for capability. Buying a tool (resource) does not give you the ability to use it effectively (capability). Misunderstanding this gap leads to "shelfware" and failed digital transformations.
