Liveliness

In container orchestration (like Kubernetes), a Liveliness Probe checks if an application is running. If the liveness probe fails, the orchestrator kills the container and restarts it.

Impact

Liveliness checks are the heartbeat of self-healing systems. They allow the system to recover from deadlocks automatically.

Weinto take

Use Liveliness for Deadlock Detection, not just "is the process up?". If the server is running but the thread pool is exhausted, it's effectively dead. Make your Liveliness probes smart enough to know the difference.
