Service Consumption

Activities performed by an organization to consume services. It includes the management of the consumer's resources needed to use the service.

Impact

Value is co-created. If the consumer doesn't know how to use the service (poor consumption), the value is lost.

Consumption should be Frictionless. We measure "Time to Hello World"—how long does it take a new developer to consume our internal API and make a successful call? If it's more than 15 minutes, the service is too hard to consume.
