Business Impact Analysis (BIA)

A key activity in the practice of service continuity management that identifies vital business functions and their dependencies. It quantifies the impact to the business of an interruption to the service, determining the Recovery Time Objective (RTO) and Recovery Point Objective (RPO).

Impact

Without a BIA, disaster recovery investments are guesswork. Organizations settle for expensive "gold-plated" redundancy for minor apps while leaving critical revenue-generating systems vulnerable. BIA aligns IT spend with actual business risk.

Weinto take

We take BIA out of the spreadsheet and into the infrastructure. We use BIA findings to tag resources in the cloud, automatically applying backup policies and replication rules based on the asset's criticality. Policy-driven continuity ensures that as soon as a critical service is deployed, it inherits the protection it needs.
